The Islamic State (IS) group on May 29th claimed its first assault on Syria’s new forces since the ouster of former president Bashar al-Assad, according to war monitors, France 24 with AFP and AP reported.
The IS said it had put an “explosive device” on a Syrian forces’ vehicle in the Sweida province, a statement found by SITE Intelligence Group read.
According to the intelligence group and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) this was the first attack on the new government of Syria that has been claimed by the IS. One person died and three people from the 70th division of Syria’s army suffered injuries, SOHR said.
