Elon Musk has exited United States President Donald Trump’s administration, in a bid to invest more time on his companies, which include Tesla and SpaceX, Africanews via AP reported on May 29th.

Before the US election in 2024, he was swiftly promoted from funder to the US president’s close advisor, in which he was seen on the campaign trail.

Musk’s position in the administration was short-term, which makes his departure anticipated, but it took place following his criticism of Trump’s tax and spending bill. The billionaire said the bill was a “disappointment” because it was too pricy and it goes against his activities at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
