The Trump administration has banned Harvard University from accepting foreign students, as part of its continued crackdown on higher education in the US, Africanews via AP reported on May 23rd.

On May 22nd, the Department of Homeland Security declared the move. The department claimed the university had created a threatening academic environment by enabling “anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators” to assault Harvard’s Jewish students within university premises.

It also claimed that the university has been involved with the Chinese Communist Party, claiming personnel of the Chinese paramilitary group were trained and hosted at Harvard as early as last year.
