Authorities in Germany arrested five teenage boys on May 21st over alleged terrorist activity, with some purportedly committing arson on a refugee shelter, suggesting political divisions are affecting youth, Middle East Eye reported.
Two of the boys are alleged to have set a Brandenburg cultural building alight in 2024. Others had launched an attack on a Saxony migrant shelter in 2025. The teenagers are suspected of creating a far-right terrorist gang.
Experts suggest that the recent hike in far-right attacks is down to rising political divisions, Israel’s military operations in Gaza and elections which see tight competition.
