At least 38 people died due to Israel’s air strikes in the Gaza Strip in just 30 minutes, Palestinian medics said, as Israel ramps up attacks on the territory, the BBC reported on May 20th.

The Hamas-administered civil defence agency said that Israel’s warplanes hit a number of places, such as an east Gaza school and a fuel station safeguarding uprooted families in Nuseirat refugee camp, central Gaza.

The agency also said rescue crews were experiencing significant problems in getting to those who sustained wounds, because there was a shortage of equipment and the attacks were severe. The military activity follows Israel making an extensive evacuation order for Gaza’s civilians.
