A group of lawmakers from Italy as well as European Parliament members (MEP) urged for humanitarian aid to be urgently delivered to Gaza and criticised Europe’s allegedly passive response to the crisis in the territory, Middle East Eye via AFP reported.
The MEP’s and lawmakers went to the Rafah crossing on the Egypt-Gaza border on May 18th. MEP Cecilia Strada told AFP: “Europe is not doing enough – nothing to stop the massacre.”
Since March 2nd, Israel’s authorities, which organise the delivery of aid with Egypt, have kept crossings closed. At an extensive scale, humanitarian groups have condemned the obstruction of aid.
