The Defence Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) declared a defence deal with the US which would reportedly see heightened military coordination between the two nations, suggesting stronger bilateral relations, The National reported on May 19th.
The Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Pete Hegseth, the US Secretary of Defence, signed a letter at a ceremony which took place in Abu Dhabi, the ministry’s HQ.
The ministry said on X: “This letter of intent represents a joint commitment to develop a structured roadmap aimed at enhancing joint military co-operation, capacity development, and achieving long-term defence alignment between the two countries.”
