Ex-UN envoy and former Tunisian foreign minister Mongi Hamdi said the response of global leaders to the conflict in Sudan presents “shameless indifference,” France 24 reported on May 15th.

Hamdi demanded immediate pressure from the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union and the US to make the opposing generals Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo to strike a peace deal, in an interview with the international news channel.

Hamdi stressed that the conflict could cause partition to take place in Sudan and that the war could attract terrorists. Hamdi also said that Mali is in danger of having a civil war.
