NATO FMs to hold talks, as Turkey looks to support Ukraine ceasefire

NATO foreign ministers will convene in Turkey on May 14th and 15th for informal talks which will address prospects for European security, AL24 news via Anadolu agency reported on May 10th.

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, has expressed a readiness to help observe a potential ceasefire in Ukraine, Reuters reported on May 10th.

This follows renewed efforts by major European powers to implement an unconditional 30-day ceasefire in Ukraine. The National reported on May 10th that the proposal, backed by Donald Trump, includes the threat of imposing new sanctions on Russia if President Vladimir Putin fails to agree to the ceasefire.
