New plans to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza would heighten the plight of children and families, The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said, Middle East Eye via Reuters reported on May 9th.

UNICEF spokesperson, James Elder, said: “It appears the design of a plan presented by Israel to the humanitarian community will increase ongoing suffering of children and families in the Gaza Strip.”

Mike Huckabee, the US ambassador to Israel, said that whilst Israel would not participate in delivering aid, the idea of using hubs created by Israel to serve Palestinians, endangers children and families as they collect aid.
