New foundation to lead Gaza aid plan, US says

The US said on May 8th that a new foundation will be declaring plans for aid to reach Gaza, following the Israeli blockade which has obstructed humanitarian provisions from entering the conflict-hit area, Al-Monitor via AFP reported.
The US State Department spokeswoman, Tammy Bruce, explained that the foundation was not a governmental one.
Bruce said to reporters: “We welcome moves to quickly get urgent food aid into Gaza… in a way that the food aid actually gets to those to whom it’s intended.” Bruce stressed that food aid must not be taken by terrorists, “such as Hamas.”
