A Lawsuit filed by Sudan alleging that the United Arab Emirates has been involved in genocide in the western Darfur province was turned down by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on May 5th, according to Middle East Monitor via Anadolu Agency.

The court said it “manifestly lacked” the power to continue with the proceedings and ultimately pulled out of the case.

Sudan filed a lawsuit in March at the court, alleging that the UAE is guilty of “complicity in genocide,” by giving military and financial aid to Sudan’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
