More than 1000 strikes have been launched on Yemen, US says

The US has ramped up its military attacks on Yemen, as a White House official has said that over 1,000 strikes have been launched as of yet, Middle East Eye reported on May 4th.

US National Security Council spokesperson James Hewitt, said the US is trying to stop the Houthis from targeting the Red Sea’s Shipping routes. Hewitt said: “The [US President Donald] Trump administration remains committed to ending the Houthis’ capabilities to hijack freedom of navigation in the Red Sea.”

The Houthis have said they they will continue targeting Israel’s airports if the military activity in Gaza proceeds.
