China is considering a proposal from the US to participate in trade talks, following the US President Donald Trump’s claims that the negotiations had already started, The Guardian via Reuters reported on May 2nd.

The commerce ministry of China said: “The US has recently taken the initiative on many occasions to convey information to China through relevant parties, saying it hopes to talk with China.”

On May 1st, China’s leading commentators said the nation was geared up to participate in negotiations. China has denied that negotiations were already taking place, as alleged by US officials.
