US and Jordan start talks to extradite purported Jerusalem bomber

The US has started talks with Jordan about extraditing a Jordanian citizen who had been convicted by an Israeli court for helping with a lethal Jerusalem bombing, Middle East Eye reported on April 29th.
Ahlam Tamimi was jailed for her involvement in the Jerusalem Sbarro pizzeria bombing in 2001 that caused 15 deaths, in which seven of the people killed were children. Tamimi got 16 life terms but was released in 2011, due to a prisoner swap with Hamas.
A senior source from the West said: “Jordan is trying to show the Trump administration that it is still relevant to its world view.”
