The US state of Michigan and the FBI have been condemned by human rights activists and legal experts for cracking down on pro-Palestine protestors, in what they describe as an over-the-top use of force, Middle East Eye reported on April 24th.

On April 23rd, the FBI and local agencies of law enforcement raided a number of homes of present and former US students who took part in the University of Michigan’s pro-Palestine protests.

An attorney for some of the students who had been targeted, Amir Makled, described the raids as a “witch hunt” made to stop students from going to pro-Palestine protests.
