US President Donald Trump said on April 23rd that his country and China will strike a fair trade agreement in weeks, following the President’s claim that his tariffs would drop significantly, Africanews reported.

In the Oval Office, Trump said: “In the end, I think what’s going to happen is we’re going to have great deals.” Previously, the president had said he would not “play hardball” with the East Asian country.

Trump stressed that his country will “set the tariffs” should China not make a deal. The President added that a lot of talks are scheduled to take place but he refused to name the leaders involved.
