Gaza dialysis crisis has caused hundreds of deaths

An increasing number of Gaza’s kidney dialysis patients are dying as hospitals are faced with a severe lack of equipment and crucial medicine, Middle East Eye via Al Jazeera Arabic reported on April 23rd.
Over 400 patients, which is roughly 40% of those needing dialysis, have died since the start of the conflict because of a lack of treatment, according to a Gaza health official.
The circumstances have been worsened by the Israeli blockade on medical provisions. The official also said: “There’s a severe shortage of dialysis equipment, and kidney medication is nearly impossible to find.”
