The civil defence agency of Gaza said its rescue team recovered burnt bodies from a shelter for uprooted people, as 17 individuals were killed by Israeli strikes, Al-Monitor via AFP reported on April 23rd.

The shelter was previously functioning as a school. The UK, Germany, and France called on Israel to end its obstruction of humanitarian aid going into Gaza, which came into effect on March 2nd.

On March 18th, Israel restarted its military operations in Gaza, causing the fragile ceasefire to end. Civil defence spokesman Mahmud Bassal said to AFP: “Seventeen people have been killed since dawn.” Bassal added that a number of burnt bodies were recovered following a blaze caused by the bombing.
