Sudan asylum seekers allege they were abused under Israeli detention

Capture

Two asylum seekers from Sudan have alleged that they were threatened, blindfolded, and put in handcuffs whilst under Israeli detention for a fortnight, the Middle East Monitor via Haaretz reported on April 15th.

According to the asylum seekers, they were only permitted to take a shower once during their detention and were made to drink water from an unclean tap in a bathroom.

Reportedly, soldiers held guns at the asylum seekers, threw food on the floor and prevented them from accessing legal support. According to a report from Haaretz, the men were leaving Darfur in Sudan and were consequently kept in a military facility which mostly keeps Palestinian security detainees.
