Global nations reach agreement on how to handle future pandemics

Following years of talks, global nations have reached an agreement on how to handle future pandemics, in a bid to not repeat the errors made during the coronavirus pandemic, Al-Monitor via Reuters reported on April 14th.
Delegates at the HQ of the World Health Organization struck a deal, in the wake of over three years of talks.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the WHO chief, said: “Tonight marks a significant milestone in our shared journey towards a safer world.” Ghebreyesus added: “The nations of the world made history in Geneva today.” The negotiations came against a backdrop of pressing issues, such as H5N1 bird flu, measles, mpox and Ebola.
