UN: Over 70 civilians killed in Lebanon by Israel

Over 70 civilians in Lebanon have been killed by Israel’s forces since a ceasefire became active in 2024, according to the United Nations, Middle East Eye reported on April 15th.

The United Nations human rights office said that Israel’s military activity had both killed and injured civilians in Lebanon, during the four months since the November 27th ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

Human rights office spokesman, Thameen al-Kheetan, said to reporters in Geneva: “According to our initial review, at least 71 civilians have been killed by Israeli forces in Lebanon since the ceasefire came into effect.”
