Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi travelled to Qatar, Middle East Monitor reported on April 13th. This marks the first stop of a Gulf tour to deepen bilateral cooperation and advance mediation efforts toward a ceasefire in Gaza.

During his visit, Sisi is expected to discuss economic collaboration with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. According to a presidential spokesperson, both leaders will “explore avenues for strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors.”

Cairo and Doha remain key intermediaries in negotiations between Israel and Hamas. Both governments have hosted multiple rounds of indirect talks to secure a lasting ceasefire and facilitate humanitarian aid into the besieged enclave.
