Bangladesh launches ban on citizens visiting Israel

Bangladesh has reinstated a note on passports that says “except Israel,” according to local media, which would in effect, prohibit the country’s citizens from going to Israel, Middle East Eye via AFP reported on April 13th.
The term “valid for all countries except Israel,” was seen on Bangladeshi passports for tens of years, but was withdrawn during the later period of former prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s rule.
A deputy secretary at the home ministry, Nilima Afroze, said to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) news agency that authorities issued an official instruction to bring back the note on passports.
