Paramilitary group carry out extensive sexual violence in Sudan

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have carried out extensive sexual violence on women and girls in Sudan during the nation’s civil war, a report has found, the Middle East Eye reported on April 11th.

According to the Amnesty International report, the attacks include rape, gang-rape, and sexual slavery. The report, which was published on April 10th on Amnesty’s website, recorded sexual violence which was carried out on 36 women and girls, with some of the victims only being 15, during April 2023 to October last year.

The information was coming from interviews with survivors as well as their family members in Ugandan refugee camps.
