Israel’s Finance Minster pledges to continue aid blockade on Gaza

Israeli Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, pledged on April 7th to continue the total aid blockade on Gaza, the Middle East Eye reported.
He said: “not even a grain of wheat will enter Gaza.” Israel has closed all border crossings, cutting off humanitarian aid weeks before ending the ceasefire. Since resuming the attacks on March 18th, Israeli forces have killed over 1,400 Palestinians.
Furthermore, Smotrich dismissed calls to prioritise hostage releases, instead insisting on the defeat of Hamas as the main objective of the war.
Human rights groups and international legal bodies have accused Israel of using starvation as a weapon of war. Equally, the ICC has issued arrest warrants for war crimes to Israeli officials.
