Resources are depleting in Sudan, UN warns

The United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Sudan said on March 23rd that resources in the conflict-hit nation are running out and that the circumstances are still worrying, despite international aid, according to the Middle East Monitor.

On X, Clementine Nkweta-Salami said: “The humanitarian community is delivering food and nutrition aid, but resources are running out.”

Nkweta-Salami also said that Sudan is “among the top four countries globally with the highest prevalence of acute malnutrition.”

Nkweta-Salami added: “Millions in Sudan face hunger. Urgent funding is needed to support them.” Estimates from the UN have said that almost two million people in Sudan are facing acute food insecurity.
