Following PKK pledge Turkey offers no peaceful resolution

Turkey’s pro-Kurdish party held responsible President Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling alliance for failing to outline clear steps on advancing peace talks following PKK pledge to disarm, The New Arab reported on March 19th.
Recently, PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan called for a peaceful resolution after decades of armed clashes. Following closed-door talks on March 17th, Turkey seems unable to provide a democratic solution to the Kurdish question.
Gulistan Kilic Kocyigit, deputy parliamentary group chair for the DEM Party, said that while government officials spoke in broad terms about a “terror-free Turkey,” they did not provide concrete commitments on how they would address democratic demands raised by the Kurdish movement.
