Experts warn US that Iran-backed Houthis remain defiant

Even after President Donald Trump announced a major US airstrike that killed large numbers in Yemen, the battle-hardened, Iran-backed Houthis are still stubborn and rightfully so, experts have warned, AL-Monitor reported on March 18th.
“The challenge of defeating the Houthis should not be underestimated,” warned Elisabeth Kendall, director of Girton College at the University of Cambridge.
The Houthis, who belong to the Zaidi branch of Shia Islam, are firmly established and “will not be easy to defeat,” Kendall added, calling them “resilient fighters”.
