Meningitis outbreak kills 26 in Nigeria

Authorities in Nigeria said on March 11th that a Meningitis outbreak has killed at least 26 people over a period of several weeks, according to The Associated Press.

During late January, the growth of the disease in Nigeria’s Kebbi state started with more than 200 suspected cases having been recorded, according to Musa Ismail, the state commissioner for health.

Ismail added that medical supplies have already been sent to the areas affected by the outbreak and isolation hubs have been created to stop the disease from continuing to spread.
