UN and Arab nations criticise Israeli obstruction of Gaza aid

A number of Arab nations and the UN have spoken out against Israel for stopping humanitarian aid from reaching the Gaza Strip, the BBC reported on March 3rd.

Egypt and Qatar said that Israel’s restrictive measure breached a ceasefire deal, while UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher referred to it as “alarming.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country carried out the move because Hamas was taking the aid supplies and using them “to finance its terror machine.”

Saudi Arabia conveyed its “condemnation and denunciation” of the blocking of aid by Israel, according to the foreign ministry.
