Ramadan working hours announced by UAE

The public sector’s working hours for the holy month of Ramadan were declared by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), The National reported on February 23rd.
The circular said that official working hours for ministries and federal authorities starts from 9am and ends at 2:30pm between Monday to Thursday, as well as 9am to 12pm on Fridays. Ministries and federal authorities could also introduce flexible working arrangements or remote working in line with their specified necessities and within the remit of the working hours approved for the day, the FAHR added.
The UAE has since announced the new working hours for its private sector and government employees. Khaleej Times reported that private sector employees across the UAE will have their working hours reduced by two hours, as per the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. The authority also announced that workers may also be given flexible work patterns or remote work within the limits of their usual working hours specified during the month of Ramadan.
Ramadan is the ninth and most holy month of the Islamic year. The month-long event is said to commemorate the month that the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Mohammed. While the month is most recognised for mass fasting amongst Muslims, Ramadan is also a time dedicated to strengthening their faith through Quran recitation and prayer.
