ICC urged to investigate Biden over alleged war crimes support

A rights group based in the US has urged the International Criminal Court to investigate the previous President Joe Biden and his administration’s members over support for Israel’s war crimes in Gaza, The New Arab reported on February 25th.

The group has claimed that Biden, former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and former Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin of breaching the Roman Statute through “their accessorial roles in aiding and abetting, as well as intentionally contributing to, Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza”.

A 172-page request to ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan was submitted by Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) last month. The request, which was publically shared on February 24th, was created with assistance from war crimes experts and ICC-registered lawyers.
