ICC chief prosecutor sanctioned by US

The US on February 13th sanctioned the chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the court’s investigations targeting US personnel as well as the alleged war crimes of Israel in Gaza, according to Al-Monitor via AFP.
In a statement, the US Treasury Department said that it had issued sanctions against Karim Khan in response President Donald Trump’s executive order of February 6th, which urged him to be sanctioned.
The court has been investigating Israel’s actions during its war with Hamas in Gaza, which came about as a reaction against the Hamas-led attacks of October 7th 2023.
