Qatar PM pledges to support Lebanon’s reconstruction targets

Qatar’s Prime Minister said on February 4th that his country would support Lebanon to rebuild, help Lebanese institutions and work on joint projects following the creation of a Lebanese government, according to The Arab Weekly via Reuters.
Qatar has given the Lebanese army grants for fuel and salaries. Lebanon needs foreign funding to help meet a massive reconstruction bill from last year’s war with Israel and Hezbollah, in which Israeli strikes destroyed vast areas of the country.
After a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said Qatar would continue providing support to the Lebanese army, during a news conference in Beirut.
