Trump to continue halt to funding for the UNRWA
US President Donald Trump is expected on February 4th to halt US engagement with the United Nations Human Rights Council and to maintain a withdrawal of funding for the UN Palestinian relief agency UNRWA, a White House official said on February 3rd, according to The New Arab via Reuters.
This key development concurs with a visit to Washington by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who has criticised the UNRWA, claiming the agency is responsible for anti-Israel incitement and saying its employees are “involved in terrorist activities against Israel.”
A spokesperson from the UNRWA refused to comment on an order that has not been issued, and referred to the agency’s financial situation as currently “very, very bad”
