UK among western nations urging Israel to “work with” UN

The UK, France and Germany called on the Israeli government to cooperate with the UN so that vital aid operations are surely carried out in the Palestinian territories, following Israel’s prohibition of the main United Nations aid agency for Palestinian refugees from working in its territory, France 24 via Reuters reported on January 31st.
In a joint statement, published by the British government, the three countries said: “We urge the government of Israel to work with international partners, including the UN, to ensure continuity of operations.”
Israel’s move sparked a strong diplomatic backlash, as humanitarian officials have warned it could have a catastrophic effect on the delivery of aid and could put regional stability at risk.
