Jordan launches air bridge to deliver medicine to Gaza

Jordan’s air force launched the largest air bridge to deliver much-needed medical supplies to Gaza, under a US-sponsored deal to boost deliveries following the ceasefire, according to officials, the Middle East Online via Reuters reported on January 29th.
In the operation, 16 helicopter flights will take place daily. Initially, at least 160 tonnes of life-saving medical supplies will be flown over for a week to hospitals and medical centres, according to army officials.
Israel had permitted Jordan to send aid to a specific area close to Israel’s Kissufim border crossing with the Gaza strip.
A helicopter pad in a location within a central area that links the northern and southern parts of the enclave, would help to enable quicker deliveries, aid officials said.
