Israeli violence in West Bank kills two Palestinians

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported that two Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire overnight and on January 29th in the occupied West Bank, Asharq Al-Awsat via The Associated Press reported.
The two men were in their twenties and were killed in separate incidents. One of the victims, a 23-year-old man, was shot dead in Tulkarem. While a 25-year-old man was killed in a strike on Jenin, amid a large Israeli operation that was launched in Jenin in early January.
In its reports, the ministry does not differentiate between civilians or combatants. No immediate comment has come from the Israeli military.
Since the onset of the conflict following Hamas’ October 7th 2023 attack, violence has surged in the West Bank. According to the ministry, more than 800 Palestinians have been killed. The majority appear to have been gunmen killed in fights during Israeli arrest raids, although the death toll also includes people killed during violent demonstrations and civilian bystanders.
Furthermore, the region has experienced an increase in both settler violence against Palestinians and Palestinian attacks on Israelis since the war began in Gaza, 15 months ago.
Israel captured the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem during the 1967 Mideast war. Palestinians want all three territories to be a part of their future state.
