Israelis must disclose military service for entry to New Zealand

New Zealand has brought in a new immigration policy in which Israeli visa applicants must reveal their military service details- a policy which has had a positive reception from Palestinian groups, The New Arab reported on January 29th.
The new visa rules, which apply to Israelis who want to enter the country have been created to investigate potential involvement in human rights abuses, such as war crimes, according to the country’s immigration office. Israel has faced global scrutiny over war crimes and crimes against humanity carried out in Gaza.
The new rules mean that Israelis applying for a visitor visa must answer a number of questions concerning their military service.
