Israeli far-right finance minister, Bezalel Smotrich, has u-turned a threat to leave the government if Israel does not go back to fighting in Gaza, a number of Israeli news sites reported on January 27th, according to The New Arab via Reuters.

Earlier in January, Smotrich expressed opposition towards a ceasefire deal which intends to achieve the release of almost 100 Israeli prisoners kept by Hamas in Gaza in return for Palestinians kept in Israeli prisons, claiming it put Israeli security at risk and prevented the country from fulfilling its war goals.
