Swiss prosecutors examine complaints made against Israeli president

Swiss prosecutors have said on January 22nd that they were examining complaints made about visiting Israeli President Isaac Herzog, following reports indicating that NGOs were claiming he has committed “incitement to genocide” in Gaza.

The Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland (OAG) said it got “several criminal complaints” made against Herzog, The New Arab and agencies reported.

The OAG said in an email to AFP: “The criminal complaints are now being examined in accordance with the usual procedure.” The OAG also said that the office was in talks with the foreign ministry of Switzerland “to examine the question of the immunity of the person concerned”.
