Israeli forces kill two Palestinians behind West Bank bus attack

Israeli forces have killed two Palestinians who executed a lethal attack on a bus in the West Bank this month, Asharq Al-Awsat via The Associated Press reported on January 23rd.

The Israeli military said on January 23rd that the two men protected themselves within a structure in the village of Burqin in the West Bank, and that the men and the Israeli troops had been shooting at each other. According to the Associated Press, a soldier had suffered moderate wounds.

The military mentioned that Katiba al-Shalabi and Mohammed Nazzal  had been operatives with the Islamic Jihad group.

A statement made by the Hamas group claimed that the men were a part of its armed wing. Hamas and Islamic Jihad are reportedly allies which sometimes join forces to conduct attacks.
