Hamas set for new round of hostage release

Hamas has said on January 20th that they will release the next set of Israeli hostages for January 25th after an official with the group had said they would be released a day later than expected, The New Arab via Reuters reported.
Hamas is expected to release over 90 hostages over the coming weeks in exchange for Palestinian detainees currently held in Israeli prisons. This exchange is part of a three-stage ceasefire plan that Hamas and Israel reached this month.
The first phase of the ceasefire agreement includes the gradual removal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and release of Israeli hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel.
The ceasefire officially came into effect on January 19th. Hamas released three Israeli hostages, and in exchange, Israel released 90 Palestinian detainees, 69 of whom are women and most of whom detained without charges, according to Al Jazeera on January 20th.
