Palestinian Authority detains Al Jazeera journalist

A well-known Al Jazeera journalist was reportedly detained by the Palestinian Authority whilst covering day one of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the Middle East Eye reported on January 19th.
Givara Budeiri and her cameraperson were arrested on the evening of January 19th as they were creating a report awaiting the liberation of Palestinian detainees who were going to be released under the prisoner exchange deal, Quds Network reported.
Budeiri and her cameraperson were take to the Palestinian Preventive Security’s (PPS) Beitunia police HQ, close to Ramallah.
Just moments before, Budeiri was outside Israel’s Ofer prison in the occupied West Bank, reporting live for Al Jazeera Arabic.
