Israeli forces killed 193 journalists in Gaza since October 2023
At least 193 journalists have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza since October 2023, with some intentionally targeted, a report has found, according to The New Arab on January 20th.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) found that 91 media workers, including 23 female journalists were killed, while 86 were injured and many later died because there was a deficiency in access to medical treatment.
The majority of the journalists were killed due to drone attacks, airstrikes, artillery shells or sniper fire. The syndicate identified 148 cases of journalists being shot at, 85 experiencing an inhalation of tear gas and 23 incidents of journalists either being hit or almost hit by military vehicles.
