Lebanese judge Tarek Bitar, recommenced his probe on January 16th into the lethal 2020 Beirut port blast, charging 10 people, such as customs, security and members of the military, Asharq Al-Awsat via AFP reports.

The charges follow a two-year pause in the probe into the explosion, which took place on August 4th 2020 and led to over 220 deaths, whilst injuring thousands of people and damaging large areas of Beirut.

According to authorities, the explosion was caused by a fire in a warehouse, where a massive supply of ammonium nitrate fertilizer had been kept for years.
