Israel must get ready for war with Turkey, govt committee says

An Israeli government-established committee said the country must get ready for a possible war with Turkey, claiming that the country’s apparent aim to regain its Ottoman period power will spark tension within the region, The New Arab reported on January 7th.
The Nagel Committee issued a report which mentions the security strategy and defense budget, in which concerns were expressed about Turkey’s objectives and possible future friction with Israel, Israeli media reported.
The committee said this friction could lead to conflict and emphasised the possibility of Syrian factions supporting Turkey and generating more threats to the security of Israel.
The report, alongside recommendations was given to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Israel Katz and far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
