A high-level UAE delegation was in Lebanon to set a plan to reopen the state’s embassy in Beirut after over three years of closure, Reuters via the news agency, WAM, reported on January 13th.

In October 2021, the UAE withdrew its diplomats from Lebanon and closed the embassy after Lebanon’s information minister at the time spoke out against Saudi-led coalition’s involvement in Yemen.

The delegation arrived on January 12th. But on January 11th, UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun made an agreement to undertake the required process for reopening the embassy.
