Israeli map claiming Arab territories breaches “international law”- UAE
The UAE has strongly criticised the Israeli government’s publication of a map, known as “historic Israel” which claims parts of present day Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria, according to The National reported on January 8th.
Posted on X by the Israeli foreign ministry’s Arabic account, the map presented the biblical boundaries for the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judea, which according to biblical accounts span across different areas to the east of the Jordan river.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on January 8th that publishing the map is a “deliberate effort to expand the occupation and a blatant violation and contravention of international law.” The ministry also said that the UAE absolutely rejects provocations which intend to change Palestine’s legal status.
